Después de un par de retrasos en su publicación, por fin tenemos en nuestras manos la última versión de Fedora llamada Leonidas.
Algunas de sus características más importantes son:
- KDE 4.2.2.
- GNOME 2.26.1.
- Xfce 4.6.
- kernel 2.6.29-4
- Firefox 3.5 beta 4.
- Thunderbird 3 beta 2.
- OpenOffice.org 3.1.0.
- K12Linux.
- NetBeans 6.5.
- Python 2.6.
- Ext4 por defecto.
- Driver Nouveau por defecto para chipsets NVIDIA.
- Mejorada la velocidad de inicio y apagado del sistema.
- Unificación del control de volúmenes con PulseAudio.
- Instalación automática de fuentes y tipos mime con Packagekit.
- Implementado el lector de huella digital.
- Reducción de tiempo de descarga al actualizar los paquetes.

Podrías explicarnos por qué Fedora necesita 6 CD y Ubuntu solo uno. ¡Qué hace a Fedora tan pesado? Gracias, es simple curiosidad.
no es que sea mas pesado, sino que Ubuntu trae menos paquetes en el CD por eso se usa tanto repositorio de internet, Fedora, debian, suse y otras distros traen la opcion de descargar un dvd o varios cd (14 en el caso de debian) por que asi deja de ser necesario tener que estar descargando los paquetes desde internet lo cual hace mas lento el proceso de instalacion de paquetes ya que si tienes una conexion a internet un poco lenta puedes pasar horas descargando lo que necesitas.

acabo de instalar fedora 11 y me corre bastante bien, maneja bien el ACPI de mi lenovo y carga super rápido todo el S.O, solo le di una pinceladas y me parecio que esta bien bueno en comparacion con otras versiones
