La cobertura de lwn.net sobre el Linux Kernel Summit incluye un resumen de una presentacion de los ingenieros de Google sobre como usan linux. Segun el artículo, un equipo de 30 ingenieros de Google esta cambiando la base del código principal del kernel cada 17 meses, actualmente llevan 1208 parches para 2.6.26 e insertando casi 300,000 lineas de código, casi el 25% de esos parches son backports o nuevas características.
